Wow, tonight's core was AWESOME! we were told to bring some piece of clothing that is of value to us. so i decided to take my Kobe Bryant Jersey. and we watched a video that TOTALLY convicted. i've put soo much value into the clothes, shoes, items, music, THE WORLD! wow thank you God for a reminder that NONE of this will last. my relationships. my stuff. my SELF! i was journaling and i was writing "more of you God and less of me" and i was saying that to myself and i felt like, wait no. no. ALL of God and NONE of me. Wow. Jesus your ENOUGH! during the whole time the verse that Paul said in Philippians 3 i count them as rubbish so i may gain Christ. was hitting me. The Lord is enough for me. man i really really really needed that tonight. Thank you God. Love you.
Luke 14:25-33
26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.
Matthew 4:18-20
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. -
Matthew 8:22
But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."

It is amazing to think that none of it matters! It is so easy for us to take things for granted in today's society. For example: The rich man who came up to Jesus and asked, "What do I need to do to become one of Your followers?" Jesus then said, "Go and sell all of your belongings!" It basically goes on to say that the man moped out sad because he was rich "and had many belongings." That is when Jesus said the camel in the needle quote. haha
ReplyDeleteThe truth is we take God for granted too, kind of like when you said, "More of God, less of me," and then changed it to, "All of God, NONE of me!" That is so true. As humans we forget how undeserving we are of Christ's love.
"Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory."
-- Romans 5:2
We have inherited this undeserved privilege, yet can look forward to being with God in glory? No matter how much I think I understand God, He continues to amaze me.
I know its kind of weird that I am writing this considering that I don't know you, but keep it up. It is truly a blessing to see that other people are out there and are on FIRE for Jesus. For me, in a new school, new state, and new lifestyle it is so easy to get discouraged. It is in times like these that you never know who you are going to encourage. Maybe someone will stumble on here and read and then open their minds to Christ. God is capable of anything!
